Jeff has been practicing law in South Carolina since 2016 and leads the McGrath Law Firm, PA’s Family Law division. By focusing primarily on Family Law, Jeff represents and advises on many different sub-categories, including Divorce and Separation, Child Custody and Visitation, Child Support, Adoption, Grandparent Rights, and similarly related matters encompassed in Family Law.
With an approach that is simple and refreshing, Jeff’s foremost goal is to serve clients as a straight-forward attorney, and his unique style and creative thinking provide each family with a perspective and strategy that is tailored to each unique situation. Jeff believes that his job as counsel is to personally guide the client through the maze and potential pitfalls of the legal process, all while explaining and doing what is right for the client first. Jeff is meticulous and thorough. While he has found that most cases settle during the mediation (conflict resolution) process, should a protracted legal battle become necessary, Jeff has the skills, experience, and fortitude to see it through.
Jeff received his Honors Bachelor of Arts degree in Justice Studies from James Madison University, graduating magna cum laude in 2009. He then earned his Juris Doctorate from the South Carolina School of Law and was called to the Bar in 2016. While in law school, Jeff served as a member and Associate Justice of the Moot Court Bar and as a Legislative Representative and Member of the Student Bar Association. While attending a semester abroad in London, Jeff was also the Honorable Society of Gray’s Inn Debate Winner in 2010.
Jeff lives in Mount Pleasant with his beautiful wife, adorable daughter, and their two beloved dogs. His hobbies include enjoying time with his family, adding to his substantial movie collection, soaking up the sun on the beach, and experiencing all that the Lowcountry has to offer.
